Please review the following terms and conditions for Pippa Paws Dog Grooming. Copies are available upon request. Please note that these terms and conditions may be subject to change, and you will be notified of any updates.
Cancellations and No-Shows:
- I kindly request 24 hours' notice for cancellations or appointment rescheduling to allow me to offer the appointment to other clients.
- Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a 100% charge of the grooming fee.
- A deposit may be required for future bookings following a late cancellation or missed appointment.
- All charges related to cancellations or no-shows are determined at my discretion.
Appointment Times:
- Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment.
- Due to my appointment scheduling, I require sufficient time to groom your dog and prepare for the next client.
- If you are late, I may not be able to complete the full groom, and a 50% charge of the grooming fee may apply.
- Please notify me promptly if you are running late.
- Please wait outside if you arrive early for your appointment or collection to avoid disturbing other dogs in the salon.
- Early collections are not permitted while I am grooming as it can excite the dog and may prevent me from completing the groom. In such cases, the full grooming fee will apply.
Late Collections:
- A collection time will be provided upon arrival.
- Late collections may incur a boarding charge of £10 per every 15 minutes in addition to the grooming fee.
Payments:
- I accept cash and card payments.
- I do not accept payment plans, cheques, or non-instant bank transfers.
Fleas and Worms:
- Please ensure your dog is up-to-date on flea and worm treatments.
- If fleas or worms are detected, I may be unable to proceed with the groom until appropriate treatment has been administered.
- A basic grooming fee will apply in such cases.
- If no other appointments are scheduled that day, I may proceed with the groom, but an additional £5 charge will apply for a flea shampoo bath.
- A £10 decontamination fee will be added to cover salon cleaning costs, regardless of whether the groom is completed or not.
Matting:
- An additional fee of up to £15 may be added to the grooming price if your dog has matted fur.
- I will attempt to remove minor mats while preserving as much of the coat as possible.
- If matting is extensive or causes discomfort to the dog, I may need to shave the coat down with a close blade.
- You will be informed before any shaving is performed.
- Matting can be painful for dogs and may lead to skin issues such as nicks, scabs, cuts, hot spots, fungal and bacterial infections, maggots, and pre-existing irritations.
- I accept no liability for any skin issues or post-grooming effects resulting from matted fur removal, including itching, redness, irritation, or self-inflicted abrasions.
- Matting removal increases the risk of injury due to the use of scissors and blades. While I take every precaution, I accept no liability for any accidents that may occur during matting removal, and any resulting veterinary fees are the responsibility of the owner.
Accidents:
- While I take utmost care, accidents can occasionally happen during grooming.
- I will provide basic first aid in case of any accidents.
- If I am unable to continue the groom, I will contact you and, if necessary, arrange for veterinary attention at the owner's expense.
Post-Grooming Concerns:
- If you have any concerns about your dog's groom, please contact me within 24 hours of leaving the salon.
- I accept no liability for any issues raised after this timeframe.
- If you believe your dog requires veterinary attention due to the groom, please contact me before seeking treatment and provide a veterinary report for insurance purposes.
Pregnant and Nursing Dogs:
- I am unable to groom pregnant or nursing dogs until their puppies are weaned.
Behaviour Issues and Stress:
- If your dog becomes excessively stressed during the grooming process, I reserve the right to stop the groom and reschedule it for another date at an additional cost.
- Please inform me of any known behavioural issues related to grooming.
- Muzzles and other restraints may be used in cases of aggression, where necessary and appropriate.
- If the groom is deemed unsafe for either the dog or me, it will be stopped, and the full grooming fee will apply.
- If the groom is partially completed due to aggression, the full grooming fee will still apply.
- I will not force a groom on a dog that is exhibiting aggressive or unhappy behaviour. The dog's welfare is my top priority.
- If a dog is deemed too aggressive for grooming but has matting, you may be referred to a veterinarian for assistance.
- In some cases, I may be able to work with the dog to improve their grooming experience through smaller sessions or additional training. This will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
